Queens of the Pitch: AS FAR and Nàstic Clash in Tarragona for Women’s Day

On the occasion of International Women’s Day, the Consulate General of the Kingdom of Morocco in Tarragona, in collaboration with Club Gimnàstic de Tarragona and with the support of Kassid Formación, is organizing an international women’s friendly football match bringing together Nàstic de Tarragona (Spain) and AS FAR of Rabat (Morocco).

 

This event represents a unique initiative that reflects the shared commitment to strengthening ties of friendship and cooperation between Morocco, Spain, and Catalonia. Through sport, as a space for connection and cohesion, the event also aims to promote cultural rapprochement and highlight the growing prominence of women’s football, as well as the talent and ability of women to reach the highest levels in this field.

 

The match will take place on Monday, March 30, 2026, at 6:00 p.m. at the Nou Estadi Costa Daurada. Admission will be free and open to the public.

 

This sporting event will unfold in a festive atmosphere, featuring the presence of distinguished figures from the world of sport and a range of activities designed to enrich the public’s experience. A tribute will also be paid to outstanding women in the sporting and social spheres, in recognition of their achievements and contributions.

 

Thie event offers a unique opportunity to enjoy high-level sport in a spirit of conviviality and fraternity while strengthening the solid ties and strategic relations between the two shores of the Mediterranean.

 

Club Gimnàstic de Tarragona (Nàstic), founded in 1886, is one of the oldest clubs in Spain. It currently competes in Primera Federación and holds a prominent place in Tarragona’s sporting life, with a fully integrated women’s section.

 

AS FAR, founded in 1958 in Rabat, is one of Morocco’s most emblematic clubs. With an extensive record of national and continental achievements, it stands out in particular for its women’s team, considered one of the most successful in Africa and a benchmark in the development of women’s football on the continent.
